Pretty much an opportunist. After his stint on "Game Show Marathon", I guess it was the right time. I don't remember seeing Reichen in that audience. I bet Ricki Lake told him to fess up.
Thanks for sharing. Big hairy muscle hugs of thanks.
Opportunist! It's so obvious isn't it!?

awesome news! You all are not very forgiving, are you? Let's think of our coming out stories - we all searched for that right place & time, no?

I agree Alice it's great when anyone comes out and is honest about their identity. Who was it that said, "I'd rather people hate me for who I am than love me for who I am not?"
We should always be supportive of our brothers and sisters who come out, but we should not be afraid to ask questions so that we can always encourage people to come out irrespective of things like blackmail, ambitiion and career moves.

What, just because he was thinking of people OTHER than himself makes him an opportunist? Oh, that's right. A bitter fag wrote that article. Nevermind, it all makes sense now!

Yes and how many others mask staying in the closet as being kind to others but really they're just afraid to stand up for who they are.
I don't know about this Lance guy but I think the writer has some valid points about the timing of his coming out announcment- he's trying to selll a TV show he's co-creating in which he plays a gay character. Seems like all his reasons for staying and and coming out revlove around $$ and career.

i think its greeat that you came out. More gays need to do that. We need to show that were just as normal as straight people. When i came out it let alot of relief off my shoulders. My family couldnt love me more. I have a wonder boy friend who i love with every beat of my heart. And its becoming more common these days i dont see why there makin a big deal on the marriage issue. We should have as much right as straight people should to get married. If you love someone thats all that should matter.
Sincerely,Jeremy

Coming out to oneself can be difficult for some and easy for others and the same can be said for coming out to friends and family.
You've made the first right step by thinking seriously and asking for support about how to come out. Questions about if, when, and how you come out and to whom are very important questions and the first step is to be sure you have a support network in place. It's not uncommon for people to wait until they can emotionally and financially support and protect themselves before coming out to family. There are many resources that you can look to for getting started in considering if you should come out and how and I've listed a few below: -Human Rights Campaign Coming Out Resources http://www.hrc.org/issues/coming_out.asp -HRC Resource Guide (PDF) http://www.hrc.org/documents/resourceguide_co.pdf -Gay Straight Alliance http://gsanetwork.org -Gay Community Center - find an LGBTQ community center in your area http://www.lgbtcenters.org
