The General's question, "I want to know why you think that American men and women in uniform are not professional enough to serve with gays and lesbians." (watch video above) got all the expected pro Don't Ask Don't Tell Policy. replies we also got to see a brief back and forth between host Anderson Cooper and Mitt Romney on Romney's change (flip flopping?) on the issue. The controversy that has since erupted stems around General Kerr's alleged involvement in the Clinton campaign and how well CNN is vetting its participants and their political affiliations.

Kerr later asserted on a CNN's American Morning, that he did serve on a military advisory committee and a gay and lesbian steering committee for Clinton, but he insisted that he has not done work for her campaign and that his question "...was a private initiative of my own.”
