Just wanted to say that "ha ha"ing at California for the passing of Prop 8 is probably not the best way to be in solidarity with the LGBT people in California who have been struggling with this battle. Of course, out of any state, California is going to be the state with the most focus on the gay marriage issue. You apparently don't all remember the 70s. Remember when the Briggs initiative was specifically focused on California? And most of the energy of all the right wing activists was aimed at San Francisco? You are right about California, it is the center of alot of contention. This is exactly why Proposition 8 has been such a struggle for us. Right Wing activists from all over the country focus on San Francisco because of its symbolic representation as the gay sanctuary while LGBT activists in other states seem to go under the radar of the big wigs in the right wing ranks. just my two cents.
I mean, be a little more supportive. "ha ha" doesnt work. It doesnt matter who the leader in this fight is. The only thing that matters is that we stick together. |
