This is really interesting. I would not have guessed!
I wonder whether some homosexual individuals in Iran will feel the need to get a sex change, seeing it as their only option to have a relationship with their sex of choice? (This may be more subconscious also ... if I am attracted to males and the culture allows MTF's to have a relationship with a male (after a sex change only?)... I may interpret my homosexuality as transsexuality.) Just thinking out loud.
To layer irony on top of irony, you get a handful of radical lesbian feminists over here using this sort of thing as proof that they are right about the sinister anti-woman/lesbophobic (inherent) nature of transsexualism.
